sad, sad news. [27 May 2002|12:35am] [ mood | gloomy ] before I bring up the next set of synopses sometime this week...... #yes I'm going to disappear again for another week... -_-;;; I read on various Japanese websites that Shinga-Gin, a manga artist who was a fellow assistant of Watsuki-sensei during Oda-cchi's apprenticehood, has suddenly passed away. Though I'm not currently sure on exactly when, what I could gather from various sources point towards likely date of his passing being May 24, 2002. I pray that he will rest in peace, and hope that other OP fans will mourn with me the passing of someone relatively close to our dear author. 1 comment|post comment

I just wrote this on the general board... [14 May 2002|06:13pm] [ mood | blah ] [ music | turned off the cd player... ] If all goes well (knock on wood), I will be writing up the much-anticipated storm of manga synopses tonight (I say "all goes well" because it's based on the assumption that my health is holding up tonight as well as it has been for the past few hours, and that I can get the work that REALLY needs to be done, done). Therefore, those of you on the GrandLine list will hopefully get flooded with special announcement synopses posts tonight in real time (as I type them up) - the html synops update on DP3 (for those of you who aren't on the list but still read the synops via the site) will be uploaded as soon as I'm fully caught up to ep.229 (WJ #24) - that's a total of 12 eps I owe people.... sheeeeeeeesh I've been sick/slacking too much... that's more than 3 months' worth with the double-issue (??;;).... DISCLAIMER: As with any update on DP3, whether or not the update will go up on the scheduled date all depends on my health/mood more than anything else. So, there are no guarantees... akthough I'm thinking that the possibility that they will go out tonight (at least some of the synops) are relatively high. =) post comment

Now, to write the synopses and weekly addresses, and scan away like there is no tomorrow.... I wish I had the time to make 1600x1200 wallpapers, as my current 'puter (aptly named "logue-town") desperately needs OP wallpapers of that size (I only got 1024x768, which was the size I made the wallpapers two computers ago)...... If there is anything you'd like to see on the site OTHER THAN MULTIMEDIA KHRAPPE (I will not hassle scanner [owner of apricot.com where DP3 currently lies] with extra bandwidth eaten by OP mp3's or avi's or wav's....) and LATEST SYNOPS/SONG LYRICS (they're being worked on, honest) do speak up. I'm willing to accomodate as much as I can as I see legally fit.... =) with that, I'm back to my bed, though I'm feeling rather well right now (better safe than sorry). ugh. post comment

[05 May 2002|03:16am] [ mood | rushed ] [ music | KinKi Kids/ kanashimi blue ] the update that I will be doing over the course of the next day involves: oda / weekly jump addresses (#11-#22/23) and his dossier from when IKKI-YAKOU won the hop*step awards (the date on this thing is 7/14/94... ah the things I was able to dig up...) - if I can locate my KENSHIN-KADEN in the morning I will add his comments from that as well.... manga/ vol.23 info, vols.22-23 cover scans, isbn for french vol. 7-8 anime / change # of movies on tv.html to 3, ordering info for pieces.14-15 and 2nd season vols.1-2 on a new page (I will split jpns tv-dvd ordering info by season), 7 new cover scans to cover piece.12 on, update 2002 episode list and add more ratings from newtype (anyone having june 2000 or june 2001 ratings from their newtypes at hand, please e-mail them over to me; I can't find those two particular newtypes in my room... -_-;;).... I might have time for a small cast/staff update but that isn't the main thing I need to update right now methinks... novel/ fifth novel ordering info and cover scans for both 4th and 5th novels sound / 6th ending (fish) and 3rd movie theme (mabushikute) info, chara song album & chopper kingdom OST info, cover scans for above and GB2 music&song collection.... someday I need to break down and buy folder5's hypergroove1 to add in the "interest" list... ??;; etc / info for anime artbook 3 (anyone having a copy of anime artbook #2 to sell me, I will worship you...) and the anime log book (drats, I forgot to buy the trading card book while I was in Japan....) and scanning in RED:GC; add real info and package scans for Rainbow Island, Treasure Wars, and GrandBattle2; add info or scans for all the VJump strategy guides that I've been able to find to date (the two currently up and Rainbow Island, Treasure Wars, GrandBattle2 volume 1) fan-fanfic / all fic&poem submissions (6) fan-fanart / new submissions (5) fan-lyrix (thanks again to yohko for doing them.... sorry I haven't put them up...)/ ED6, 3rd movie theme, songs on the Character Song Album, miscellaneous songs on the Chopper Island OST and GrandBattle2 OST synops / break off vols. 22-23's worth (which leaves me with only ONE episode's worth of synopses that I've written that isn't compiled.... -_-;;) and write #11 to #22-23's worth (read: 12 weeks' worth of synopses in the next ~24 hrs or so.... happy reading...) bbs&ml/ remove the "king of pirates" mailing list (it's been disbanded) linx / add new webring members (lots!) & 1 new jpns visitor (pepsi) to links page menu / fully updated release list (almost everything up there is defunct now....??) entrance / a celebration of our rubberband boy's birthday (It will stay as the "May top-level image" because I just decided that it will be.... :P) I do HOPE to get all of this done, but since I also have to WORK today, I dunno how much will be done. No guarantees on getting everything done, but I will be putting at least SOME of the above up (at least the ones that don't take much time to do) today. next update will be 5/5. promise. [28 Apr 2002|08:13pm] oh yeah, I finally got vol.23 last week. whew. working (translating) like a madwoman this week to make up for the week lost having fun at ACen. (I swear to god, I am smitten with someone I shouldn't be falling for right now as a result of all the fun stuff at ACen... but I'll leave that alone at that.) I've been so busy that I haven't even *read* jump aside from OP for the past ~8 weeks or so... but I'll get around to writing synops as soon as I'm done with all the work to do. Then, it's a scanning frenzy for all the stuff that has come out... and upload! upload! upload! You guys who have been keeping up with the webboards are great (except for those that write spoilers on the general boards) - I'm not writing anything in there but I AM READING THEM! ^^;; So, anyway, I'll see you guys next Sunday with the special luffy's b-day top and a ton of updates! yeup, two more weeks. [18 Mar 2002|01:01am] [ mood | exhausted ] [ music | savage garden / affirmation ] rika will be out of the country and in japan for two weeks starting... today. when rika gets back on april 1, she will get rid ouf outstanding work, then will immediately set forth on the massive update (i.e. the first real update in 2 months), scheduled for a 4/4 release at this point in time (so sue me, not only did I miss vivi and sanji's birthday, I will be in no condition to celebrate usopp's birthday from jetlag.....) in the meanwhile, I might be peeking into the site from japan, and I might even be writing miniature travel-logs right here.... so check back here every so often in the next two weeks while you keep yourselves busy communicating with one another via the GrandLine ML or the webboards here... ...since you guys always behave, I trust your better judgment. =) Thanks, and may Gold Roger find peace in you. ;-) 1 comment|post comment

I'm really burning out from lack of sleep due to work, added by late nights / early mornings trying to keep in touch with my new SO across the pacific.... terrible apologies to the gerenal OP-speaking world out there, but please give me a while longer... I promise that everything will be back to "normal" schedule by mid-april (because I won't have this crazy-ass work schedule anymore, and I will actually have time to sit down, relax, and work on the site...) meanwhile, the only webboard I will be answering is the general board (unless something on the other boards really catch my attention)...... if you really need to talk to me you can try sending me an e-mail, or contacting me over on the mns messenger (baratie AT hotmail DOT com) -- I'm perpetually "busy" on that messenger thing (if I'm "online" it means that I'm away from the desk and the modem choked/redialed) but if I'm not too busy I will respond to your msgs (and if I am, you won't hear from me)....... thanks for understanding, and keep writing on the boards! discussion is the life of a website like this! ^^;; post comment

welcome to rika's secondary journal... [09 Feb 2002|05:09am] [ mood | cheerful ] [ music | more b'z (cont'd from main journal) ] If you're interested in my day-to-day mayhem, you want to be at my main journal..... this is a secondary journal which I will be using to blab about anything and everything OP from hereon (though I did mention how I'm amazed at the # of hits I'm getting lately on the main journal the other day). this journal will also serve to keep time going on those dry spells where there are no updates (usually once a week, but sometimes there is no Jump, or Oda-cchi is taking the week off, or I just HAD to say something in the middle of the week) -- instead of writing in the updates where I'm sure almost nobody looks until I say something is updated, I thought about writing it in a journal. much simpler, eh? ^_^ In any case, look for me blabbing about anything and everything OP in future journal entries ^_^ post comment
